The Dresden Park Railway is almost 6-km-long and covers a particularly charming area of the Grand Garden. The miniature railway was first opened in 1950 and was known as the Kindereisenbahn. The railway started with just one track 1.3 kilometers, leading from the zoo, but within a couple of years it had been fully extended.
The 30-minute ride leads through the 147 hectares of the garden estate with its extensive meadows and forests, its sculptures and impressive Palace.
It is hardly possible to explore the magnificent art of baroque and English landscaping in a more comfortable way.
